Sobre Batalha Naval da Poça

Tidepool Sea Battle is a sea battle game, the classic battleships idea played in a rocky tidepool at golden hour. Your fleet is five driftwood rafts with leaf sails; Skipper Marlowe, a herring gull in a little navy cap, hides five bark boats with feather sails in his own pool. Each of you fires pebbles at squares of the other's waters, and the first to sink the whole other fleet wins. Easy, Medium and Hard set how cleverly Marlowe aims, and 2 Players lets two people share one screen, with a cover screen between turns so nobody peeks.

Every fleet has a 5, a 4, two 3s and a 2, and ships never touch, not even at a corner, so when a boat sinks the water around it is marked for you and no pebble is wasted. A hit fires again, so a good guess can turn into a long run. Two sonar scans per game add a real choice: spend a turn to learn how many ship squares hide under a 3×3 patch. The Daily fleet puzzle is a logic puzzle, the same for everyone each day, with a streak to keep.

Como jogar

  1. Place your fleet: your rafts start in random spots. Drag a raft to move it, tap it to turn it, tap Shuffle for a new layout, then tap Ready.
  2. Tap a square in Marlowe's waters to fire. A ring of ripples is a splash (a miss) and your turn passes; an orange star is a hit and you fire again.
  3. Sink every square of a boat and it is shown, with the water around it cleared. The small pool shows your own fleet and Marlowe's pebbles.
  4. Sonar (2 per game) scans a 3×3 patch instead of firing and shows how many ship squares are under it; a 0 clears the whole patch.
  5. Scoring: 10 per hit, 20 per square of a sunk boat, and 300 plus 10 for every shot under 60 when you sink his fleet, times 1, 2 or 3 for Easy, Medium or Hard. You have 3 lifebuoys: losing a game or giving one up costs one, winning gives one back, and losing the last ends the run.
  6. Daily fleet: find the hidden fleet on a 6×6 or 8×8 grid. The numbers say how many ship squares lie in each row and column. Tap a square to mark water, ship or blank; tap a finished count to fill the rest of its line with water. Check shows wrong marks for a 20 second penalty.

Controles

Teclado
Click a square to fire. The arrow keys move a cursor and Space or Enter fires; S arms the sonar (or shuffles your fleet while placing), H shows a hint, N starts a new game, D opens the Daily fleet and Escape leaves it. While placing, drag rafts with the mouse and click one to turn it; Space or Enter is Ready. In the Daily, W, X and 0 mark water, ship and blank, and C checks.
Toque
Tap a square to fire. Drag a raft with your finger to move it and tap it to turn it while placing. Sonar and Hint sit next to your small pool; the level, Daily and New buttons are at the top. Tap the board to hurry Marlowe's turn.

Dicas

  • Start by firing at every other square like a checkerboard: the smallest boat is two long, so it cannot hide between your pebbles.
  • After a hit, try the squares above, below and beside it; once you have two hits in a row, keep going along that line.
  • Ships never touch, so never fire at a square touching a sunk boat, and the corners next to a hit are always water.
  • Use sonar early on a big open area: a 0 clears nine squares at once, and a 2 or 3 tells you exactly where to aim next.
  • In the Daily fleet, rows and columns with a 0 are all water; place the longest ship first, then fill around it with water.
