Over Beekbouwer
Brook Builder is an original puzzle about leading water through a garden. A spring bubbles at one edge of the board and a thirsty frog waits in a pond at the other. In between lies a jumble of channel tiles, straight pieces, bends and crossings, all turned the wrong way.
You have a few seconds to rotate the tiles into a connected channel before the spring overflows and the water starts to run. Every garden is generated with a guaranteed solution, but the clock gets shorter, the gardens grow from 5x5 to 7x7, and rocks and pinned tiles start getting in the way.
Hoe speel je
- Tap a tile to turn it a quarter turn. Build an unbroken channel from the spring to the frog's pond.
- When the countdown at the top runs out, the water starts flowing. You can still turn tiles the water has not reached yet.
- Every tile the water fills scores 10 points times the garden number. Reaching the pond scores 100 times the garden number.
- Route the water past flower buds to make them bloom for 50 points each, and through a crossing tile twice for a 100-point loop bonus.
- Feeling ready? Press Flow! to start the water early and earn 15 points for every second left on the clock.
- If the water hits a dead end, a rock or the edge of the garden, it spills and you lose one of three hearts.
Besturing
- Toetsenbord
- Arrow keys or W A S D move the cursor. Space, Enter or X turns the tile, Z turns it back, F starts the flow. With a mouse, click to turn and right-click to turn back.
- Touch
- Tap a tile to turn it. Tap the Flow! button to release the water early or to speed it up.
Tips
- Work backwards from the pond as well as forwards from the spring. The two ends are the only fixed points.
- Fix the first few tiles next to the spring before anything else. You can finish the far end while the water is on its way.
- Pinned tiles and rocks cannot be changed, so plan the route around them first.
- Only press Flow! early when the whole channel is done. The bonus is lost if the water spills.
- A detour through a flower is worth more than a few seconds of time bonus, as long as you are sure it connects.
