Acerca de Derbi de Escarabajos
Beetle Derby is a top-down kart racer the size of a vegetable garden. You drive Dot the ladybug against Buzz the bee, Shelly the snail and Tank the stag beetle around five hedge-lined circuits: Veggie Patch, Lily Pond Loop, Flowerbed Twist, Compost Hill at dusk and the Moonlit Mushroom Ring at night.
Dot accelerates by herself, so the whole game is in the steering, and above all in the drift. Hold a turn at speed and she slides, sparks start to fly from the wheels, and letting go fires a turbo that gets stronger the longer you held it. Stringing drifts together through a series of bends is how races are won.
Cómo jugar
- After the countdown, steer left and right around the circuit. Each race is two or three laps.
- Hold a turn while going fast to start a drift. The sparks change color as the charge builds through three levels.
- Let go to release a Turbo, Super turbo or ULTRA turbo. Hitting a hedge or a stone cancels the drift.
- Drive over boost leaves for a burst of speed and collect pollen for 10 points each. Mud and grass slow you down, and puddles make you slide.
- Finish first for 500 points, second for 300 or third for 150. A lap without a bump earns a clean-lap bonus.
- Finishing last costs one of three hearts, and a win gives one back. The cup carries on with quicker rivals until the hearts run out.

- Left and Right arrows or A and D to steer. Down arrow or S brakes. Enter or Space starts the next race.

- Hold the left or right side of the screen to steer. Hold both sides to brake.
Consejos
- Start the drift before the corner, not in it. Turn in early and let the slide carry you round.
- Even a short drift gives the first level of turbo, so drift every bend you can.
- Use the minimap to see the next corner coming and to check how close the rivals are.
- Buzz the bee flies over mud and puddles. Tank the stag beetle is heavy and hard to shove aside, so pass him cleanly.
- Pollen comes back every lap and each piece gives a tiny push, so the pollen line is often the fast line.
